Jim Halligan has once again very kindly offered to make his magnificent riverside garden available to the members and families of the Club for our highly popular Summer BBQ.
Liquid refreshments will be on hand from the Club’s portable bar, and our chef, Peter, has prepared a comprehensive menu of various meat and fish dishes, vegetarian options and salads, which he will be serving on the day, and all of which is included in the ticket price.
For those who are attending, Jim’s house is located at Riverbend, 14a Dee Banks, just past Et Alia (formerly the Red House). For those members who may have difficulty in descending the steep steps to the garden, you may wish to avail yourself of a ride from the Bandstand at The Groves, where a number of our nautically-inclined members have kindly offered to ferry our guests along the Dee to Jim’s garden direct in our very own City Club flotilla, which will be departing the Bandstand at just after midday and will be available for return trips later in the afternoon. Alternatively, you may wish to travel to Riverbend direct from 12.30pm onwards.
The dress code for the day is informal (avoiding jeans, please), with shoes to be soft-soled for those wishing to take advantage of one of the river trips. The timing of the event will be from 12.30pm until the last to leave departs, and members’ children and guests are most welcome. In the interests of safety we should be grateful if parents would ensure that their children do not enter the river landing stage without being accompanied by an adult.
